Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Blocks Reject Selling Pressure

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 1 Higher
SOYBEANS: 9 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.40 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.75 Lower
DOW JONES: 170 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 4 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.23 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 0.25 cent, closing at $1.3775 with three loads traded. Price initially declined a penny before buyer interest increased. After the final trade took place, an unfilled bid pushed price into positive territory. There were four unfilled bids at the close of spot trading. This kept support under the market. Barrel cheese price declined 1.50 cents, closing at $1.51 with one load traded. Dry whey price decreased 0.50 cents, closing at 27 cents with 10 loads trade. Class III futures are mixed but mostly higher with prices ranging from 7 cents lower to 20 cents higher. Trading volume is strong with contracts traded through June 2024. The July contract has nearly had 1,000 contracts traded Tuesday. Butter price declined 1.50 cents, closing at $2.35 with seven loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 0.25 cent, closing at $1.1550 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are steady with light trading activity. Butter futures are 0.45 cent lower to 1.50 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 1.67 cents lower to 0.20 cent higher.
