Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Traders Dislike Steady Cash Prices

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 15 Higher
SOYBEANS: 39 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.10 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.15 Higher
DOW JONES: 402 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 131 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $2.38 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Both block and barrel cheese prices remained unchanged at $1.39 and $1.5275, respectively. One load of blocks was traded with two unfilled bids and two uncovered offers remaining at the close. Barrels had an unfilled bid and uncovered offer remaining. The dry whey price remained unchanged at 27.25 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 18 cents lower to 5 cents higher with the strength only in the March contract. Butter price declined 1.50 cents, closing at $2.37 with six loads traded and three uncovered offers remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk price slipped 0.75 cent, closing at $1.1550 with two loads traded. Class IV futures are 19 cents lower in the only contract traded which is October. Butter futures are 1.85 cents lower to 1.80 higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.92 cent lower.
