Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrels Try to Move Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 14 Lower
SOYBEANS: 17 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $6.50 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.92 Higher
DOW JONES: 35 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 63 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.29 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese prices did not see any trading activity today with price remaining unchanged at $1.6125 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price closed steady at $1.5150 with 24 loads traded. Price ranged from $1.5050 on the downside and $1.53 on the upside. The sheer volume of trades kept the price increase in check. Dry whey price declined 1.50 cents closing at 31.25 with 19 loads traded. There certainly is a lot of dry whey available to the market with sellers wanting to move it. Price is now at the same level it was in late January. Class III futures are steady to 15 cents lower. Butter price declined 3.50 cents closing at $2.3950 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 1.75 cents closing at $1.18 with three loads traded. Class IV futures are 2-12 cents lower. Butter futures are 1.50 cents lower to 0.50 cent higher. Dry whey futures 0.25 cent lower to 0.05 cent higher.
