Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Fall Back

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEANS: 6 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.50 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.10 Higher
DOW JONES: 266 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 1 Point Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.95 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price declined 2.50 cents, closing at $1.6650 with two loads traded. There were three uncovered offers and one unfilled bid remaining at the close. Barrel cheese price declined 3.75 cents, closing at $1.5475 with 10 loads traded with an unfilled bid remaining at the close. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 33.75 cents with 14 loads traded. Class III futures are mixed, ranging from 9 cents lower to 5 cents higher. Futures trading activity has been light. Butter price remained unchanged at $2.4425 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.1925 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have not yet traded. Butter futures are 0.22 cent lower to 0.35 cent higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.40 cent higher.
