Tuesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - More Pressure on Milk Futures

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 1 Lower
SOYBEANS: 17 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $6.40 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.12 Lower
DOW JONES: 462 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 78 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $2.36 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese declined 7 cents, closing at $1.8450 with no loads traded. An unfilled bid remained under the market with no interest from that buyer to raise the bid. Barrel cheese price increased 3 cents, closing at $1.6675 with 14 loads traded. All who came to the spot market to do business went home satisfied with no unfilled bids or uncovered offers remaining at the close. Dry whey price declined 0.75 cent, ending at 43.75 with one load traded. Class III futures moved from posting gains to prices unchanged to 7 cents lower. Butter price remained unchanged for the third consecutive trading session at $2.3450 with no loads traded. No buyers or sellers showed up to do any business. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 1.25 cents, closing at $1.1650 with two loads traded. Price is moving to the previous low, set in late January, and may revisit it before the end of the week. Class IV futures are 18 to 34 cents lower. Butter futures are 1.50 to 3.25 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.12 to 1.50 cents lower.
