Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese and Butter Increase

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 6 Lower
SOYBEANS: 11 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.20 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.22 Lower
DOW JONES: 127 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 95 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.30 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 3 cents, ending at $1.91 with two loads traded. Barrel cheese price gained 5 cents, closing at $1.59 with no loads traded. There was one buyer who wanted to get a load of barrels but no sellers showed up to do any business. Dry whey price was unchanged at 46.50 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are mixed, ranging from 14 cents lower to 19 cents higher. March is showing the greatest gain with July showing the greatest loss. Butter price increased 2 cents, closing at $2.45 with one load traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 1.50 cents, closing at $1.20 with one load traded. Class IV futures have not yet traded. The gain of butter will be offset by the decline of nonfat dry milk. Butter futures are 0.55 to 2.25 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.17 to 0.22 cent lower.
