Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Butter and Cheese Showed No Activity or Price Movement

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

SOYBEAN MEAL: $5.20 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.02 Higher
DOW JONES: 149 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 128 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $2.28 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block price remained unchanged at $2.1825 with no buyers or sellers showing up to do any business. Barrel cheese prices remained unchanged at $1.80 with no trades and two uncovered offers remaining at the close. One offer was at the steady price with the other posted 5 cents higher. Dry whey price increased 0.25 cents ending at 35.50 cents with seven loads traded. Class III futures are 6 cents lower to 12 cents higher with March showing the greatest gain as well as the most activity. Trading is very light in the other contracts with no month posting more than 100 trades. Butter price remained unchanged at $2.43 with no loads traded and no buyers and sellers showing up during the trading period. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 1.75 cents closing at $1.2950 with no loads traded. Class IV futures have not yet traded today. Butter futures are 0.75-1.75 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.85-1.00 cent higher.
