Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Fall

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 3 Higher
SOYBEANS: 6 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.30 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.17 Higher
DOW JONES: 890 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 368 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.25 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price declined 8.75 cents, closing at $2.00 with four loads traded. Barrel cheese price declined 1.75 to $1.7075 with three loads traded. There were no unfilled bids or uncovered offers remaining at the close of trading. Dry whey declined 2.25 cents, closing at 33.25 cents with 10 loads traded. This is the lowest level since Sept. 8, 2020. Buyers seems to be stepping up to purchase supply for the year taking advantage of the low price. Class III futures are 3 to 20 cents lower. Butter prices slipped 0.50 cents, closing at $2.4250 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price lost 3.75 cents, ending at $1.2250 and the lowest price since Aug. 20, 2021. There were three loads traded. Class IV futures are 3 to 24 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.25 cent lower to 0.80 cent higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.97 cent lower.
