Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Milk Futures Trade Mixed

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 3 Lower
SOYBEANS: 4 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.50 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.30 Lower
DOW JONES: 228 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 62 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $2.15 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 4 cents with one load traded closing spot trading at $2.1125. Barrel cheese price decreased 3.50 cents closing at $1.8250 with one load traded. This divergence basically left the Class III price calculation unchanged due to a heavier weighting to barrels. Dry whey remained unchanged at 45.50 cents with 2 loads traded. Class III futures are mixed with prices ranging from 7 cents lower to 19 cents higher. January is showing the greatest strength. Butter price increased 2.75 cents closing at $2.7975 with 6 loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price decreased 1.75 cents settling at $1.34 with 6 loads traded. Nonfat price has moved down to the lowest level since mid-September 2021. Class IV futures are 6 cents lower to 12 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.50 -- 2.35 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.25-0.65 cent higher.
