Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrels Show Weakness

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 4 Lower
SOYBEANS: 29 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.70 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.75 Higher
DOW JONES: 49 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 151 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.61 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese moved 0.75 cent higher, closing at $2.2325 with no loads traded and an unfilled bid remaining at the close. Barrel cheese price declined 2 cents, closing at $2.0325 with no loads traded and an uncovered offer remaining. There were no buyers showing up for barrels and no sellers showing up for blocks. This leaves traders guessing again as to market direction. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 44 cents. Butter price increased 1.25 cents, closing at $2.9525 with no loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 2.50 cents, closing at $1.44 with two loads traded. Class III futures are mixed ranging from 9 cents lower to 5 cents higher. Class IV futures are 25 cents higher in the December contract, which is the only one traded so far. Butter futures are 0.52 to 5.10 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.65 cent lower.
