Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Pushes Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 4 Higher
SOYBEANS: 26 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $2.76 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.72 Lower
DOW JONES: 91 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 175 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.85 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 6.50 cents closing at $2.20 with one load traded. There was an unfilled bid remaining at the close. The buyer needed to get some cheese and raised the bid quickly and aggressively during the last minute of trade but was still unable to entice a seller to the market. Barrel cheese price gained 2.25 cents closing at $2.0625 with two loads traded and two unfilled bids remaining. Blocks are now 13.75 cents above barrels as there is more demand for blocks at this time of year. Butter price remains unchanged at $2.9050 with no loads traded and no buyers or sellers showing up in the market. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 3 cents closing at $1.43 with six loads traded. Dry whey price remained steady at 44 cents with one load traded. Class III futures are mixed ranging from 19 cents lower to 18 cents higher. Class IV futures are 14-19 cents higher. Butter futures are 1.75 cents lower to 1.77 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 2.50 cents lower.
