Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Milk Futures on the Rise

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 9.75 Lower
SOYBEANS: 16.50 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.50 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.50 Higher
DOW JONES: 159 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 3 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $0.49 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Cheese blocks were up 0.75 cents to $2.0300 with three loads traded. Barrels increased 2.75 cents with 10 loads traded. Class III futures supported cheese prices, moving 6 to 13 cents higher. Butter price increased 2.75 cents to close at $3.2675 with six loads traded. Nonfat dry milk was up 0.25 cents to $1.5400 with no loads traded. Dry whey price was unchanged at $0.4225 with no loads traded. Class IV futures were 16 to 24 cents higher. Dry whey futures were down 0.25 to 0.50 cents. Butter futures 2 to 3 cents higher. Nonfat dry milk futures was 0.75 cent lower to 1.9 cent higher.
