Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Diverge

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 3 Higher
SOYBEANS: 1 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $4.40 Lower
LIVE CATTLE: $0.45 Lower
DOW JONES: 439 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 142 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: 3.28 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 1.25 cents closing at $2.0350 with one load traded. Barrel cheese price decreased 3.50 cents ending at $2.19 with two loads traded. Dry whey price decreased 0.75 cents closing at 41.50 with no loads traded. Class III futures trading activity has been light and confined to only four contract months. Prices for October through December post double-digit losses with June showing a gain of 4 cents. Butter price increased 1.25 cents closing at $3.23 with one load traded. The strength today increases the potential for butter to make another new high. Buyers have no concerns over buying butter at high prices. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined a penny closing at $1.53 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are mixed with only two contracts traded. Prices are 12 cents lower to 5 cents higher. Butter futures are 2.50 cents lower to 1.97 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.35 cents lower to 0.20 cents higher.
