MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price remained unchanged at $2.06 with no buyers or sellers showing up. Barrel price increased 3 cents closing at $2.09 with no loads traded. There were two unfilled bids remaining at the close. Butter price declined 4 cents closing at $3.1325 with one load traded. This is the third consecutive day of loss for butter. Some slowing of demand has moved buyers to the sideline. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined a penny to $1.57 with no loads traded. Dry whey price declined 1.75 cents closing at 46 cents with no loads traded. The nearly non-existent trading activity on the spot market leaves traders cautious. The increase of barrels should have pushed Class III futures into positive territory, but trader reluctance remains. Class III futures are 22 cents lower to 4 cents higher with from the month of September showing the only gain. Class IV futures are 20-33 cents lower. Butter futures are 1.35–5.02 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 1.00–1.50 cents lower.
