Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Milk Futures Fall From Steady Cheese Prices

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 5 Higher
SOYBEANS: 21 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $6.60 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.42 Lower
DOW JONES: 73 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 40 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $3.21 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Both block and barrel cheese prices remained unchanged at $1.8775 and $1.9475, respectively. There were unfilled offers in each category at the close. The attitude of the traders has completely switched again. The past two times cheese prices remained unchanged Class III futures moved higher. Now, the attitude has again switched with steady prices being viewed as bearish. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 45 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 9 to 44 cents lower. Butter price declined 3.50 cents ending at $2.9550 with 10 loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 1.50 cents, ending at $1.52 with one load traded. Class IV futures are 8 cents lower to 9 cents higher. Butter futures are unchanged to 1.00 cent lower. Dry whey futures have not yet traded.
