MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price remained unchanged at $1.7850 with no loads traded and no buyers or sellers showing up during spot trading. Barrel cheese price increased 0.25 cent, closing at $1.7950 with one load traded. There were three unfilled bids at the close of spot trading, suggesting there could be more strength Tuesday. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 43.50 with no loads traded. Butter price declined 3.50 cents, closing at $2.9750 with two loads traded. A price above $3.00 may be a bit too rich for buyers. Butter may continue to trade in a range again for a while. Grade A nonfat dry milk declined 2 cents with price settling at $1.4825 with three loads traded. There were six unfilled bids and three uncovered offers remaining at the close. The weakness of nonfat dry milk may be an anchor on butter price. Class III traders did not react positively to the slight strength of barrels with futures 5 to 23 cents lower. Class IV futures traded only in the December contract so far with a price 30 cents lower. Butter futures are 3.90 cents lower to 0.40 cent higher. Dry whey futures have not yet traded Monday.
