Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrel Cheese Finds Strength

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 3 Lower
SOYBEANS: 25 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $0.80 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.15 Higher
DOW JONES: 64 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 124 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.30 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price remained unchanged at $1.9750 with no loads traded. No buyers or sellers showed up to the market to do any business. Barrel cheese price increased 4 cents, closing at $2.05 with one load traded. There was an offer for a load of barrel remaining at the close of trading. Dry whey increased 1.50 cents, closing at 47.75 with one load traded. This strength did not garner a lot of buying interest, but it did bring Class III futures up off the lows. Class III futures are mixed, ranging from 14 cents lower to 26 cents higher. Butter price declined 2.50 cents, closing at $2.9150 with 10 loads traded. There have been quite a few loads traded over the past two weeks with buyers and sellers comfortable doing business at this level. Grade A nonfat dry milk price increased 1.50 cents, closing at $1.66 with one load traded. Class IV futures are lower. Butter futures are 0.07 to 1.77 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 0.25 cent lower to 0.12 cent higher.
