Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Fall

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 2 Higher
SOYBEANS: 12 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.50 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.32 Lower
DOW JONES: 345 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 65 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.36 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price declined 5.25 cents ending at $2.0575 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price declined 6.50 cents closing at $2.1050 with no loads traded. No buyers showed up today with only sellers looking to accomplish business. There were offers for 6 loads of blocks and 5 of barrels at the close of trading. This does not bode well for the market. Butter price declined 4 cents closing at $2.90 with 12 loads trade. So far this week, there have been 59 loads of butter changing hands. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 3.50 cents closing at $1.6750 with 4 loads traded. Class III futures are 55 cents lower to 9 cents higher. May 2023 is the only contract posting a gain. Class IV futures are 30-51 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.07 cents higher to 4.27 cents lower. Dry whey futures are 2.00–-3.95 cents lower.
