Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Steady to Lower Cash Prices

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 20 Lower
SOYBEANS: 61 Lower
SOYBEAN MEAL: $5.40 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.45 Lower
DOW JONES: 80 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 59 Points Lower
CRUDE OIL: $1.41 Lower

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Both block and barrel cheese prices remained unchanged today at $2.10 and $2.17 respectively. There were no loads traded in either category with no bids or offers placed. Butter price declined a penny closing at $2.9550 with 6 loads traded. Dry whey price declined 2.75 cents ending at 47 cents with 6 loads traded. This is the lowest price for whey since January 4. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 1.50 closing at $1.7950 with 3 loads traded. Class III futures are 12 cents lower to 2 cents higher. Class IV futures are 3 cents lower to 26 cents higher. Butter futures are 2.95 cents lower to 0.90 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.75-2.47 cents lower. USDA will release the May Cold Storage report this afternoon providing information of the level on demand for the month and the amount of supply on hand.
