Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Decline Further

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 12 Higher
SOYBEANS: 27 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $8.50 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.17 Higher
DOW JONES: 23 Points Lower
NASDAQ: 38 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.80 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

The anticipation of cheese buyers to step back into the market was a little premature. Block price declined 3.50 cents, closing at $1.8450 with no loads traded. Barrel cheese price declined 5 cents, closing at $1.9050 with no loads traded. No buyers showed up to the market with only offers remaining at the close. Butter prices increased 10.25 cents closing at $2.8825 with 8 loads traded. This moved price above the previous high, erasing the losses from last week. There was an unfilled bid and two uncovered offers remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.85 with no loads traded. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 78 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 1 to 23 cents lower. Class IV futures are 4 to 48 cents lower. Butter futures are 0.50 to 7.50 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 1.32 cents lower to 1.00 cents higher.
