Wednesday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Barrel Cheese Rebounds

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

LIVE CATTLE: $1.00 Higher
DOW JONES: 65 Points Higher

CRUDE OIL: $0.44 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price increased 2 cents, closing at $1.95 with one load traded and one unfilled bid remaining at the close. Price has now exceeded the previous high from Dec. 15 and is the highest price since Jan. 12. Barrel cheese price rebounded gaining 5.75 cents, closing at $1.69 with five loads traded. There was an unfilled bid remaining down at $1.6125 and an uncovered offer remaining at $1.7250. It is very unusual that unfilled bids or offers are posted that wide. Butter price gained 3.25 cents ending at $2.4325 with no loads traded. Price is now very close to the high set on July 16, 2019. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 1.50 cents, closing at $1.6475 with five loads traded. Dry whey price remained steady at 75 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are one cent lower to 17 cents higher. Class IV futures are 9 cents lower to 19 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.37 -- 4.90 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 1.00 cent lower to 0.50 cent higher.
