MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

If there was any anticipation over further strength of barrels or an increase of blocks, that was put to rest, as there was no change of prices and no trading activity. There was only an offer for a load of blocks and an unfilled bid for a load of barrels remaining at the close of spot trading. Blocks remained unchanged at $1.8575 with barrels at $1.60. This left Class III futures about where they were prior to spot trading, ranging from 14 cents lower to 6 cents higher. Most trading activity is confined to the December and January contracts. Butter price increased a penny to $1.98 with one load traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price declined 0.75 cent, closing at $1.5475, with four loads traded. Dry whey price declined 0.75 cent, closing at 68 cents with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 5 cents lower to 1 cent higher. Butter futures are 0.47 cent to 3 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.50 cent to 1.12 cents lower. USDA will release the November Federal Order prices Wednesday afternoon.
