Both block and barrel cheese prices remain unchanged at $1.8725 and $1.65, respectively. There were no loads traded in each category with no one showing up to do any business. Buyers and sellers must have turned their attention to Christmas and did not need to accomplish any further business. That was not the case for butter as price increased 6 cents, closing at $2.25 with nine loads traded. Buyers remain active and aggressive through the end of the year as concern is developing over supply next year. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.67 with no loads traded. Dry whey price increased 1.50 cents, closing at 75 cents with one load traded. This is the highest price since dry whey began trading on the spot market in early 2018. Butter futures are 0.30 cent to 4 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.75 cent lower to 0.70 cent higher. USDA will release the November Livestock Slaughter report this afternoon.
