Thursday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Spot Prices Hold, Increase

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 9 Higher
SOYBEANS: 16 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $1.00 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $1.67 Higher
DOW JONES: 589 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 69 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $0.24 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Block cheese price remained steady at $1.8575 for seven consecutive trading days. There was only an offer posted at that price with no buyers to be found. Barrel cheese price increased 0.25 cent, closing at $1.6025 with no loads traded. There were two unfilled bids remaining at the close. This provides some support to the market with nearby Class III futures and second half 2022 contracts posting gains. Contracts in between show slight weakness. Butter price increased 0.25 cent, closing at $1.9825 with seven loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price gained 1.50 cents, ending at $1.5625 with no loads traded. Dry whey price increased 0.50 cent, ending at 68.50 cents with one load traded. Class III futures range from 6 cents lower to 18 cents higher. Class IV futures are 1 to 20 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.75 to 1.50 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.32 cent lower to 1.10 cents higher.
