Monday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese, Butter Move Higher

OUTSIDE MARKETS SUMMARY:

CORN: 7 Higher
SOYBEANS: 25 Higher
SOYBEAN MEAL: $6.40 Higher
LIVE CATTLE: $0.22 Higher
DOW JONES: 229 Points Higher
NASDAQ: 184 Points Higher
CRUDE OIL: $1.80 Higher

MIDDAY MARKET UPDATE:

Class III futures were mixed until spot trading took place. Block cheese price increased 3.75 cents, closing at $1.91 with two loads traded. Barrel cheese price increased 2.50 cents, closing at $1.6750 with four loads traded. Blocks have now regained half of what they lost during the middle of the month. Barrels are still in a range. Butter price increased 5.50 cents, closing at $2.3050 with 10 loads traded. This is the highest butter price since Aug. 21, 2019. Grade A nonfat dry milk price slipped 0.25 cent, closing at $1.6675 with one load traded. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 75 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are unchanged to 30 cents higher with January showing the greatest gain. Class IV futures are 3 to 25 cents higher. Butter is 0.07 cent lower to 6.32 cents higher. Dry whey futures are steady to 0.35 cent higher.
