Block cheese price increased 6 cents, closing at $1.73 with no loads traded. Suddenly there is no seller interest after a week of sellers wanting to move product. Bids remained at the close of trading. Barrel cheese price increased a penny to $1.4550 with nine loads traded. There were also unfilled bids remaining at the close. Butter price jumped 7.75 cents, closing at $2.0375 with six loads traded. The psychological level of the market was penetrated quickly Thursday. There was an unfilled bid below the market and uncovered offers above the market remaining at the close. Grade A nonfat dry milk price remained unchanged at $1.53 with no loads traded. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 70 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 7 cents lower to 34 cents higher with December showing the greatest gain. Class IV futures are 6 to 30 cents higher. Butter futures are 2.50 to 5.50 cents higher. Dry whey futures are 0.75 cent lower to 0.75 cent higher. USDA will release the October Milk Production report Thursday afternoon. I estimate milk production to be even with last year and cow numbers to be down 3,000 head from last month.
