Friday Midday Dairy Market Summary - Cheese Prices Unable to Continue Higher

Block cheese price declined 2.25 cents closing spot trading at $1.85 with one load traded. There were no unfilled bids or offers remaining at the close. Barrel cheese price declined a penny ending at $1.7450 with 2 loads traded. Sellers wanted to take advantage of the higher prices and brought some cheese to the market. Butter price declined 1.25 cents closing at $1.7475 with 11 loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk remained unchanged at $1.3975 with 4 loads traded. Dry whey price remained unchanged at 58 cents with no loads traded. Class III futures are 14 cents lower to 1 cent higher. Most contracts are unchanged which is unusual during the trading day. Class IV futures are 7 cents lower to 2 cents higher. Butter futures are 0.75 cent lower to 0.50 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 0.30 cents to 0.57 cents lower.
