Midday Market Update: Block cheese price remained steady at $1.6150 with no loads traded. No bids or offers were posted leaving traders guessing as to market direction. Barrel cheese price increased a penny closing at $1.45 with one load traded and an offer remaining at the close. Class III futures showed some brief strength during spot trading, but that quickly vanished shortly thereafter. Class III futures are 4 cents higher to 21 cents lower with August showing the greatest decline. Butter price increased 3.50 cents with 2 loads traded. Grade A nonfat dry milk price gained 0.75 cent closing at $1.26 with 2 loads traded. Dry whey remained unchanged at 53.75 with no loads traded. Class IV futures are 7 cents higher. Butter futures are 1.00 cents lower to 0.57 cent higher. Dry whey futures are 0.72 cent to 1.77 cents lower.
